Brokers Nix ALCIDMI Deal - American List Counsel and Direct Media Inc - Brief Article

Circulation Management, Sept, 1999

> American List Counsel's proposed acquisition of Direct Media Inc. (August, page 19) has been called off, reportedly because business-to-business brokers at DMI were unconvinced that they would benefit sufficiently under the deal's structure. These brokers, who account for half of the assets of the business, are not under non-compete contracts, and threatened to leave DMI, according to CM sister publication Direct, which interviewed ALC CFO Robert Tomlinson, Jr.
