With medical evidence indicating that shaving a surgical incision site increases the risk of postoperative infection, Medline announced the first single-use disposable MediClip Sterile O.R. Clipper to assist hospitals in becoming 100% razor free. The new sterile surgical clipper has an ergonomic handle designed to be held at a 30-degree angle so the clipper is flat against the patient's skin. The result is a clipping technique where the moving blades on top are kept from contacting the skin, reducing the chance of nicking if there is a raise in the skin itself.
