R2 Technology, Stanford begin research collaboration

R2 Technology Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, and Stanford University's Department of Radiology announced a formal collaboration designed to accelerate efforts towards the continued development of CAD-enhanced products far the detection of lung cancer and optimized clinical workflow. R2 also recently announced that the FDA has accepted the pro-market application for its ImageChecker CT CAD system designed for the detection of lung nodules in multi-detector CT (MDCT) images of the chest.

R2 is best known for its ImageChecker CAD system with OmniCAD technology that is successfully used by hospitals and imaging centers as an aid to radiologists for the early detection of breast cancer.
