The BACnet[R] protocol is a key driver for Reliable Controls Authorized Dealers, permitting interoperability across multi-vendor lines. For building automation controls of Newington, Virginia, the interoperable capabilities of BACnet allowed them the freedom to expand the existing Architect of the Capitol system by using Reliable Controls. Similarly, at Montgomery College in Maryland, Reliable Controls is installed using BACnet across both the Rockville and the Takoma Park campuses. This interoperability allows facility managers to maximize the return on investment of their existing multi-vendor, multi-campus infrastructure.

To control the 2 million sq ft of the new U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters, a native BACnet system was selected after an exhaustive procurement process based heavily on the capabilities of Reliable Controls and Pritchett Controls. In addition to providing HVAC control, the Reliable Controls MACH-System also integrates packaged pump skids, VFDs, lighting controls, and power monitoring via BACnet. The U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters was the largest BACnet new construction project awarded in 2004.
