GSM-compatible Asset tracker

GPS World, Dec, 2003

The Asset-Link 400 from CSI Wireless uses the company's asset-tracking technology with Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) wireless technology, for application in the more than 170 countries in Europe and other regions where GSM is the standard wireless service, covering 72 percent of the world's wireless subscribers. The product is a further iteration of CSI's Asset-Link 100 and 200, applicable to North America's analog AMPS standards. It incorporates SiRF Technology's SiRFstarlle/LP GPS chipset, and enables use of low-cost Short Messaging Service (SMPS) data messaging. CSI will offer three versions, a GSM-only, a GSM/GPRS, and a GSM/AMPS version. The device provides remote monitoring of vehicle movements, mechanical performance, running hours, security, and governing. CSI Wireless Inc., Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
