US Positioning Group offers the Rhino Rover for ArcPad of tools for GIS data collection. Included are TDS Recon Pocket PC, Garmin GPS 17N Receiver/antennae, GPS Backpack with antennae mast, GPS pole/bipod, and battery. The Garmin receiver is a 12-channel, L1, WAAS-enabled unit. The TDS Recon weighs 17 ounces, reports a 15-hour battery life, includes Windows Mobile 2003 software for Pocket PCs, offers two compact flash slots, and uses a 200 MHz Intel PXA255 XScale processor. The 12-volt, 4.5 amp sealed lead acid battery has a built-in 12-volt accessory receptacle, and includes a 110V AC wall charger pack. Optional Rhino Post Processor software updates shape-files to a purported less than 10 centimeters accuracy. The 2-meter GPS pole has a bipod that can be converted to a tripod.
