Fleet tracker

GPS World, Dec, 2004

An extension of the CSI Wireless AssetLink line for remotely tracking and managing mobile assets, Fleet-Link provides tractor-trailer fleet operators with continuous location and status information for their trailers and containers. Primary power is a 4Ah sealed lead acid battery, with backup 12 or 24V (8-36V) power when the vehicle is operating. Fleet-Link will function for 60 days after the truck has been disconnected from the trailer; a solar-power option enables the device to operate indefinitely. Measuring 14 X 7.8 X 2 inches and weighing 6 pounds, it uses a 12-channel SiRF Starll/LP receiver to track assets to within stated 15 meters and deliver reports via cellular radio (AMPS or GSM/GPRS). CSI Wireless, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
