RF front end

GPS World, Dec, 2004

Maxim has introduced the MAX2745, a single-chip, RF front-end for GPS, designed to eliminate the need for SAW and discrete IF filters. The MAX2745 supports both 3rd overtone crystal designs in 32 MHz and fundamental-frequency crystal designs in 16 MHz, as well as TCXO implementation. It incorporates an on-chip temperature sensor and crystal oscillator with trimmed capacitors, providing a accurate frequency and system cost savings. The MAX2745 is designed for general navigation and tracking systems (such as in-vehicle navigation, fleet management, asset tracking and management, location-based services), emergency/roadside assistance, GIS, recreational handheld and marine navigation systems, and mobile and battery-operated consumer electronics. It is available in a 48-pin TQFP package and is specified for the extended temperature range (-40[degrees]C to 85[degrees]C). Maxim Integrated Products, Sunnyvale, California.
