Mobile receiver

GPS World, Dec, 2004

Trimble has released its Lassen iQ GPS receiver module for mobile devices. The 12-channel receiver is fully compatible with the Lassen SQ module, and features standard and enhanced signal sensitivity modes. The company reports horizontal accuracy under 5 meters (50 percent), under 8 meters (90 percent), and cold start in less than 50 seconds (50 percent), less than 84 seconds (90 percent). Consuming 90 mW or less when operating continuously via a 3.3V DC, the Lassen iQ has a 26 X 26 X6 millimeter footprint. It integrates Trimble's colossus RF ASIC and IO-S digital signal processor design and a 32-bit RISC CPU, and offers onboard data storage in flash memory. Three antenna options are available: ultra-compact embedded, compact unpacked, and compact with magnetic mount. Trimble, Sunnyvale, California.
