Wireless data, IDA plan merger

GPS World, Feb, 2005

Publicly traded Wireless Data Solutions of St. Cloud, Minnesota, has agreed to merge with IDA Corp., a privately held Fargo, North Dakota-based manufacturer of electronic products for wireless markets.

The merger is contingent on Wireless Data Solutions' shareholder approval and raising of a limited amount of equity funds by April 30. IDA president and CEO Reed Danuser, and Wireless Data executive vice president Robert Chase plan to lead the combined company. Further details of the planned merger were not disclosed.

Wireless Data Solutions, through its wholly owned subsidiary Distributed Networks Inc. (DiNet), manufactures mobile data terminals providing GPS location information for fleet vehicles. IDA offers an array of engineering services and operates a Global Tracking Data Center leveraging the TRAKIT system's GPS location information transported over wireless networks.
