Boston battle

GPS World, Feb, 2005

> Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino has pledged to install GPS tracking devices on all public school buses in the city as soon as feasible, but the Boston School Bus Drivers Union is fighting the move. Menino said safety and productivity issues warrant the upgrade, but union officials claim use of GPS not only would violate their collective bargaining agreements but could cost between $200,000 and $300,000 a year.
