Dulles, Virginia-based Orbimage has introduced a GPS-based ocean-tracking buoy for its SeaStar Fisheries Information Service.

Orbimage's OrbMap software allows fishermen to see and track each buoy's location on top of SeaStar ocean information maps, saving time, fuel and buoy assets. The OrbBuoy integrates a proprietary 12-channel GPS receiver with a time to first fix of eight seconds hot and 45 seconds cold.
