Vehicle tracking

GPS World, Feb, 2005

Trimble's new Trim Trac Locator integrates an Infineon 12-channel L1, CA-code GPS receiver and Trimble's FirstGPS technology to deliver automatic position reporting for personal vehicle monitoring, security, and theft protection and recovery.

The waterproof 7.2-ounce unit supports three GSM frequencies--900 MHz, 1800 MHz (DCS) worldwide, and 1900 MHz (PCS) in the U.S--with the triband modem and GPS integrated onto a single board and controlled by a common microprocessor. TrimTrac, which can be placed in a glove box or similar discrete in-vehicle location, delivers precise on-demand positioning and regularly scheduled location reports.
