FAA GPS Leader Moves to Pentagon

GPS World, March, 2000

Ray Swider, who was promoted only a few months ago to Acting GPS Integrated Product Team Lead at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), will be moving soon to the Department of Defense (DoD). He will work in the Space Policy Directorate under the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (C3I).

Swider, who retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1995, will be taking on the duties of Mike Shaw, who left DoD to return to the Department of Transportation to work on policy matters. Swider previously headed FAA's GPS Local Area Augmentation System team.
