Spirent is the world's leading GNSS/GPS simulator provider, with a long history of technology leadership and innovation in the design and manufacture of satellite simulation equipment. The company's offerings range from fully flexible, multifrequency, multi-output systems through to single channel production test signal generators.
Spirent has a dedicated engineering and development team at its self-contained UK operation. This team is continually enhancing existing products or developing new capabilities. Three recent product launches include GPS M-code simulation to ICD-GPS-700, a competitively priced L1/L2 production test simulator and a package, known as SimAUTO, to simulate vehicle sensors coherently with GPS for automotive applications.
In addition, Spirent is following the European-led Galileo program closely. At the recent GNSS2004 European navigation conference, Spirent presented a Galileo simulator demonstration. The GSS7900 presented at this show is capable of generating the various Galileo modulation schemes, including BOC(1,1) and BOC(15,2.5) slated for the Open Service and Public Regulated Service respectively.
Markets Served
Spirent has been in the GNSS/GPS simulator business since the mid-1980's and their state-of-the-art products are used across the world. The company's products can be found wherever GNSS/GPS testing is required, from Space Agencies through to commercial customers in areas such as mobile phone production testing and (IVNS) in vehicle navigation system development.
As GNSS/GPS markets expand, Spirent is committed to focusing on the needs of the market and ensuring that the right products are available to meet their customers' evolving test requirements. Spirent also prides itself on exceptional post-sale customer and technical support, which includes a maintenance and support service package, SimSUPPORT, available with all systems.

Major Products
Spirent's product range spans the spectrum, from military simulation systems to commercial GPS L1 C/A code only and from research and development to production and field test.
Spirent's new GSS7700 platform supports all GPS legacy and modernized signals and is available commercially today. The GSS7700 includes all the "industry standard" capabilities of the familiar STR4760 simulator on which it is based. In addition, the GSS7700 offers GPS L2C, GPS L5 and M-code simulation to ICD-GPS-700. All GSS7700 variants include GPS C/A code, P-code and M-noise as standard and are available in multi-RF output configurations for differential, attitude control and anti-jam testing. The GSS7700 is driven by SimGEN for Windows, Spirent's real-time fully flexible software suite.
In addition to the GSS7700, Spirent offers a range of products including competitively priced GPS L1 C/A code systems, GLONASS simulation and interference simulators. Most of Spirent's systems support SBAS (WAAS, EGNOS) as standard.
