Fred Tibbitts & Associates, Inc. presented Cheers with the 2007 FTA Literary Excellence Award at the firm's sixteenth annual "An Autumn Evening in New York with Very Special Friends" gala at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel. As part of the award, HSBC Bank USA will fund a $5,000 scholarship at Johnson & Wales University in the name of the magazine.
Other awards included the Award for Excellence as an IT Innovator, given to Bob Bailey, executive vice president, Agilysys, Inc.; Award for Excellence as an Operator, presented to Jean-Marc Jalbert, senior corporate director of food and beverage, Accor N.A.; and the FTA Award for Lifetime Excellence, bestowed upon Dick Rivera, chairman of the National Restaurant Association.
