Burger and brew, 2004

Cheers, April, 2004

For operators looking to differentiate their restaurants, an unusual beef and beer pairing is at hand. Rogue Ale, based in Newport. Oregon and Snake River Farms, Boise, Idaho developed the idea of telling the Kobe story on the side of a bottle of St. Rogue Red. Rogue Ale has dedicated the bottle to Fukutsuru, the original bull credited with starting the line of American Kobe Beef from Snake River Farms. Current operators participating in this program include the Turn Table and the Liquid Lounge at Experience Music Project in Seattle, WA, and Seastar Seafood and Raw Bar, Bellevue, WA. Snake River Farms saw significant growth in their American Kobe beef burger last year. "This partnership allows us to spread the word using more unique methods of merchandising," said Snake River Farms marketing director, Jay Theiler.
