Cheers, April, 2008
Add cocktails to the list of products with gender-specific variants. Sofitel Luxury Hotels began offering a line of 20 signature His and Her cocktails this February, 10 for each gender.
The Hers menu, meant to embody elegance and beauty, features creations such as the Backyard Blackberry Margarita, made with hand-pressed blackberries, fresh thyme, Partida Tequila Silver, fresh citrus and brut Champagne, and the Chai Almond Deluxe, created with Hennessy VS Cognac, vanilla-kissed almond milk, house-made clover honey syrup and creme.

The His menu, billed as handsome, willful and refined, includes such cocktails as The Bronx, made with Beefeater London Dry Gin, sweet and dry vermouth and freshly-squeezed orange juice, as well as The Dark and Stormy, created from spicy ginger shaken Gosling's Bermuda Rum and freshly squeezed lime juice served long and charged with soda.
Liquid Relations mixology consultant Ryan Magarian created the cocktails, which currently are available at Sofitel locations in New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, and will debut at other U.S. Sofitel locations later this year.
