Bend it like Buben

Chefs get invited to donate their services to good causes everywhere, and one of their secret favorite events is getting more popular, in part because of their dedication. The 15th annual Sagebrush Classic, July 16 -17, held in Bend, OR, culminates in a culinary gala with such returning chefs as Roberto Donna, Galileo, Washington, DC; Gregg Higgins, Higgins Restaurant and Bar, Portland; Cory Schreiber, Wildwood, Portland; and Jeffrey Buben, Vidalia, Washington, DC are being joined this year by Cesare Casella, Beppe, New York; Tony Mantuano, Spiaggia, Chicago; and chefs from Bahrain, San Francisco, Seattle and Thailand.

Presented by Deschutes Brewery and Broken Top Golf Club, the Sagebrush Classic is held as a benefit for the Deschutes Children's Foundation, which supports services for children and families in central Oregon. The Bend area features great fly-fishing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, rafting and skiing venues. More information on the Sagebrush Classic can be found at www.sagebrush.org.
