Diageo bestowed the company's second annual Golden Bar Awards to spirits, wine and beer distributors from across the country last summer in an event at New York City's Ellis Island. Diageo honored its distributors for their outstanding performance in the marketplace as well as for the roles they play in their communities, awarding 27 statuettes made of 24-carat gold.

Winners of 2005 Golden Bar Distributor of the Year for spirits were Alliance Beverage, AZ and Coastal Wine & Spirits, FL; named Distributor of the Year for wine was Pacific Wine & Spirits, CA; and for beer, Origlio Beverage, PA. The On-Premise Excellence Award for spirits went to Glazer's of Ohio. The On-Premise Excellence Award for wine was given to Coastal Wine & Spirits, and the On-Premise Excellence Award for beer went to Alliance Beverage.
