RUBI REY RUM, a single barrel finished white rum, is now available in Chicago, Denver and South Florida from Bacardi U.S.A. The gem-shaped, ruby-colored bottle is designed to appeal to rum and vodka drinkers. The rum is produced in small batches and mellowed in white oak barrels for two to three years on the coast of Northern Puerto Rico; a selection of these barrels is blended and slowly filtered, culminating in one single barrel. The result is a combination of smoothness and the delicate character of an aged, gold spirit, according to the distiller.
