Alize is more than a hot cocktail ingredient, although you'd never know it the way it's flying off bar shelves. The importer (Kobrand) is sponsoring their second annual culinary mentorship challenge, inviting women chefs from around the country to create enticing dishes using any of the Alize products (Gold, Red Passion, VS and VSOP cognac) as ingredients.

Judges include Diane Forley (NYC's Verbena), Food Network's Sara Moulton, Anne Rozensweig (NYC's Lobster Club), beverage analyst Jerri Banks among many others. Entrants must be over 21, with a minimum one-year experience in culinary school OR in the restaurant trade, Deadline: Feb. 1.
