Ken-Bar's American-made suspension karts

Outdoor Power Equipment, August, 2005

Ken-Bar recently unveiled its new suspension kart series with the introduction of the SK-956 and SK-959. At 6 and 9 hp., respectively, these karts are entirely designed and manufactured by Ken-Bar in its 146,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Baldwin, Ga. The karts represent the beginning of an entirely new line of high-quality, high-performance, made-in-America suspension karts designed to compete in price with the Chinese imports. They boast modified double A-arm front suspension; torque converter with pivot-point chain drive (the engine is mounted firmly on the rear frame, not on the rear suspension trailer); 4 coil over shock struts; live axle; and disc brakes. Other features include 2 adjustable molded headrest seats with removable seat covers, 3-point seat belts, running lights, 1.25-inch tubing frame and powder-coat paint. A model with a differential and reverse gear will be available in the near future.
