OPEI names new board
Outdoor Power Equipment, August, 2005
The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute (OPEI) announced its 2005-06 board of directors during its 53rd annual meeting June 23-25 in Key Biscayne, Fla.
Kendrick B. Melrose, executive chairman, Toro, was elected chairman. Joining Melrose as officers will be Fred J. Whyte, president, Stihl Inc., as vice chairman and Philip J. Tralies, president and CEO, Club Car, Inc., as secretary/treasurer.
Rounding out the board as directors will be the following: Daniel T. Ariens, president, Ariens Company; Steven M. Bly, senior vice president, operations, Echo Inc.; William J. Docherty Jr., director, MTD Products, Inc.; Robert C. Hove, vice president, worldwide sales, John Deere; Paul Krishnan, group vice president, Tecumseh Power Company; John S. Shiely, chairman, president and CEO, Briggs & Stratton Corporation; and David R. Zerfoss, president, Husqvarna Forest & Garden.
