Although Suzuki still manufactures two-strokes, in recent years they have expanded their four-stroke product line. (Suzuki Marine, 800-247-4704, www.suzuki.com)

Two-stroke engines start with a cabureted 5 hp and run up to a 225-hp engine with digital sequential multi-point fuel injection. In 2002, Suzuki added a 140-hp 4-cylinder engine to ins four-stroke group, which starts with a 9.9-hp two-cylinder engine. Weights (and retail prices) for Suzuki's two-stroke models are 470 lbs. for a 150-hp V-6 ($12,000) and 461 lbs. for a 225-hp V-6 ($13,500). Sample four-stroke engine weights (and prices) are 335 lbs. fur a 70-hp four-cylinder ($8,450) and 416 lbs. for a 115-hp four-cylinder ($9,400).
