Best Flotilla of the Year

For the second time, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 79 of Rockport, TX, has won the BoatU.S. Best Flotilla in the Nation award. Commander Paul Hale accepted the award during the Auxiliary's National Conference in Kansas City in September, presented by Ruth Wood of BoatU.S. The award was begun a decade ago by BoatU.S.

to recognize excellence within the ranks of the Auxiliary. The Rockport flotilla won the very first award given out in 1990.
