Dulles gets Japanese peoplemover

International Railway Journal, Jan, 2003

MITSUBISHI Heavy Industries and Sumitomo Corporation, Japan, have won a provisional Yen 25 billion ($US 207.5 million) contract to build a peoplemover at Dulles International Airport in Washington DC, United States.

The 3.5km underground link, due for completion in 2008, will connect the main terminal to the passenger terminal. The driverless, rubber-tyred system will replace buses. The complete system will comprise 29 cars, guideway, and signalling and control.
