West Coast Main Line - WCML - Brief Article

As part of its proposals to upgrade the West Coast Main Line (WCML), Railtrack intends to enter into an alliance agreement with its two main control systems partners, Alstom and US&S, and is seeking to extend the agreement to include a limited number of systems integration service management companies.

* Railtrack has awarded a three-year structures maintenance contract for he East Anglia region that could be worth up to [pounds]38 million to Jackson Rail.

* Railway maintenance company, Amey Rail, has signed a [pounds]20 million contract with Exel Logistics. Exel will manage and distribute up to 4000 different products used by Amey maintenance teams.

* West Coast Traincare has signed a [pounds]20.7 million contract with Keir Rail for modernisatin of its six Traincare centres in preparation for the arrival of new Virgin tilting trains in 2001.
