Patentes Talgo - mergers - Brief Article

Patentes Talgo, Spain, has acquired Transportation & Transit Associates (TTA), United States. TTA had a turnover of Euros 23 million ($US 22.3 milion) last year. Patentes Talgo says the takeover will enable it to increase its overall revenue in the United States market to at least Euros 143 million.

* Balfour Beatty, Britain, is to buy two track supply companies for a total of $US 50 million. Marta Track Constructors, based in Pittsburgh, and Metroplex Corporation, based in Washington DC and Pittsburgh, recorded aggregate sales of $US 40 million last year and currently have a combined order book worth an estimated $US 150 million.

* Aecom Technology, a Los Angeles-based consultant and engineering company, is planning to merge with Maunsell, Britain, to create a new company which will employ more than 11,000 staff worldwide and generate estimated annual revenue of $US 1.5 billion.
