Alstom wins Santiago contracts

FOUR contracts worth about 110 million [euro] have been awarded to Alstom by Santiago Metro, Chile, as part of a project to extend Line 2. Two of them, worth a total of 96 million [euro], cover supply of 85 cars coupled with two years' supervision and maintenance. These contracts include a new order for 42 cars plus the exercise of a previous option for 43 cars.
The other two contracts, worth 14 million [euro] are for signalling and automatic train control on the North Recoleta Avenue extension. Alstom will manufacture the equipment in its factories in Brazil and France. Delivery will start in mid-2007.
