International Railway Journal, June, 2004

National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) has been forced to reintroduce ancient steam locomotives on key routes including Bulawayo-Victoria Falls and Bulawayo-Dabuka in a bid to keep services running. Zimbabwe is on the brink of economic collapse and there is now a severe shortage of diesel fuel which has brought train services on many routes to a standstill.
