CAF, Spain, has won a contract worth Pesetas 38.4 billion ($US 199 million) for 33, six-car trains for the Rome Metro. The contract includes an option to maintain the fleet for five years, and another option for an additional 12 trains. CAF beat an Italian consortium of AnsaldoBreda, Alstom-Fiat, and Firema.
