Idwell The Rock Jr

Guns Magazine, Nov, 2004 by Glenn Barnes

Unless you inherited the sharp eyes and steady hands of Alvin York or Daniel Boone. determining the accuracy potential of your favorite "Old Betsy" is best accomplished with some type of sturdy rest. I've used Caldwell's "The Rock" deluxe front rest for quite stone time with excellent results. It's strong, stable and built to last a lifetime, which is exactly how long I plan on using it.

Then, from out of the blue, I received a phone call stating "The Rock" was in a "family way" and was expected to deliver its little bundle of joy at any moment. On March 1st, 2004, The Rock became the proud papa of a five-pound, one-ounce rest, which he aptly refers to as "The Rock. It."

Just like his Daddy, The Rock Jr. is incredibly stable, features a cast iron base with interchangeable non-slip rubber feet or metal spikes for a sure grip on any surface, and uses the same Universal Front Bags. (Bags sold separately) An easy to use elevation wheel allows a height range from 4 1/2 to 7 1/4 inches for maximum versatility, and the center post is crafted from one-inch diameter steel. This is one tough rest.

The only difference between the two rests is size. The Rock Jr. is simply smaller. Those of you who regularly shoot from crowded or cramped benches will really like this design. For test firing, zeroing your rifle, or informal competition The Rock Jr. is tailor made for success. The only thing it doesn't come with is a congratulatory "It's a boy" cigar. Wonder why not?
