Smith & Wesson Model 22-4 .45 ACP: rejoice, big-bore revolver fans

Guns Magazine, Feb, 2007 by Mike Venturino

As a defensive revolver the Model 22-4 gives options no other handgun can match unless it, too, is chambered for the .45 ACP/.45 Auto Rim. These guns can be fed .45 ACP loads (and .45 GAP, for that matter) by means of either the half-moon or full-moon clips, which makes fast reloading a cinch. Alternately, they can shoot .45 Auto Rim ammo, which can easily be fitted into speed-loaders or just loaded singly. I plan to follow the AR path with mine, working up some good lead bullet handloads, and not fumbling with loading and unloading those little clips.

Smith & Wesson and Clint Smith (aka Thunder Ranch) are on a roll. It will be interesting to see if they follow this one up with something else.
