If not here, where?

Guns Magazine, Feb, 2008 by Woody VanKirk

I subscribe to GUNS to read articles about guns. Rifles, pistols, shotguns, etc. I don't subscribe to GUNS to see pages that could have important gun articles being taken up by stories about the military in Iraq and at home. If I want to read about that stuff I can get it from my local newspaper or from the nightly news.

Yeah, right.

In the November issue I read about how some RAF chaps saved the life of an Iraqi police chief.

Then, if that isn't good enough, a few pages later I read about a Marine Sergeant home on leave saving the life of a small child!

Why aren't those articles front page news? Why don't they lead off stories on the 6 o'clock news?

The heroism of our military and the good things they accomplish in a crummy situation seems not to be newsworthy in those formats. Perhaps the stories about Britney and Paris are higher priority.

Thank you for the pages in your magazine keeping us informed of the brave deeds of our fighting forces.

Oops, got to go now, there's a piece coming on the news about Lindsey.
