Q: Is the Colt Company, the company that made the Python revolver and the Detective Special revolver, among others, still in business?

A: Colt is indeed still in business, although the only revolvers they currently make are the SAA in a variety of barrel lengths and calibers. Primarily, Colt makes AR-15s and 1911 semiautos in a wide variety of styles. The commercial unit, Colt Manufacturing, is now separate from Colt Defense, makers of the M16 and its variants for the US Military. Contact them at: Colt Mfg. Co., P.O.
