Dillon Plastic Cartridge Boxes

Guns Magazine, August, 2000 by Roy Huntington

Dillon Precision (of reloading fame) introduced their line of plastic ammo boxes in their familiar Dillon Blue color and, I think, realized right away they had done something right. No more shredded plastic baggies, cries of, "How many rounds do I have left" or opening your shooting case to discover the bottom lined with torn cardboard and loose rounds.

I put an assortment of the handsome blue cases through the mill in the garage and on trips to and from the range. I tried to tear off the lids, dropped 'em when full of 45-70s and just generally abused them to see what might happen.

Well, nothing happened. I was surprised to note the boxes mostly didn't come open when dropped, even when full of heavy rounds. This was a pleasant surprise, indeed, and offers protection for those carefully loaded hunting rounds for the "big trip" or even for those expensive factory high-performance rounds that originally came in a cardboard and Styrofoam box.

Dillon's cases will bounce around in the pick-up, ride in a day pack or just sit on your shelf quietly protecting your ammo from dust, dirt, moisture and prying fingers.
