ACGG Education Foundation 2009 matching rifles

The American Custom Gunmakers Guild Education Foundation was formed in 2006, after several years of planning, as an affiliate effort of the American Custom Gunmakers Guild. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable educational foundation.

The Foundation supports new gunsmithing (in particular custom gunmaking) talent, dissemination of educational information to the custom gunmaking community, and enrichment opportunities for current custom gunsmiths.

To help fund the Foundation, two custom rifles will be auctioned off--both Model 700 Short Actions, one in .222 and the other a .257 Roberts with consecutive serial numbers.

The donors of the various components used to build these two custom rifles are include:

Actions (G6531421 and G6531422) donated by Larry Potterfield, Midway USA; Barrels by Fred DePoy, Douglas Barrels; matching Bastogne stock blanks, Fred Wenig, Wenig Custom Gunstocks; Leupold VX-II 4-12x40mm scopes and mounts w/consecutive serial numbers and engraved: "2009 ACGG Education Foundation," by Leupold & Stevens; stockwork by John Maxson.

The winning bidder must do the following:

1. The bidding process will begin on the 1st of March 2009 and will conclude on the 1st of December 2009.

2. The bidding process is open to all persons 21 years of age or older who meet the Federal requirements for purchasing a firearm and except ACGG Education Foundation Directors.

3. All bids must include the following information:

A. Amount of bid.

B. Complete name, address and phone number.

C. No bid received stating "$1 more than highest bid" will be accepted.

4. Send all your bids to: ACGG Education Foundation, c/o Bruce Farman Treasurer, 2563 NE Wm E Sutton Rd, Bremerton, WA 98311.

5. All bids will be opened on the December 15, 2009. Should two or more bids be received with the same winning bid, the tie will be broken by earliest postmark.

6. The winning bidder will be notified by phone on the December 15, 2009. If no contact can be made by phone, a certified return receipt letter will be sent. If no response is received within 10 days the next highest bidder will be notified.

7. Once the winning bidder acknowledges the notification as the winner, they will have 10 days to mail a certified cashier's check or money order to: ACGG Education Foundation, 22 Vista Lane, Cody, WY 82414.

8. The purchaser will receive a written letter from the ACGG Education Foundation acknowledging the amount over the fair market value of the rifle as a charitable contribution for income tax purposes.
