Oh, so polite English?

Guns Magazine, Sept, 2005 by Lee French

Two years ago, I had an experience similar to Mr. Petty's by being tossed out of a gun store in Doncaster, England (150 miles north of London).

There was one gun store in town, open one day a week. My wife was going into town to shop, so I decided to take a couple issues of GUNS and American Handgunner, drop by the gun store to look around, shoot the breeze with them (an expected activity in any American gun shop) and leave the magazines for them.

Not only did I receive the same "We have nothing for you" (without the forced "'sir" added), I was told in no uncertain terms to "get the bloody hell out and lake my trash--the magazines--with me."

I was speechless!

I can't remember the store's name (it's the only gun store in town though), but if you happen to be in Doncaster, don't waste your time going in.
