Mylex Corporation recently announced eXtremeRAID 3000, a Fibre Channel PCI RAID controller. The enterprise-class controller is ideal for clusters and networks requiring speed, fault-tolerance, and scalability.
The controller uses a 233MHz RISC processor and offers a 64-bit, 66MHz PCI bus that doubles sustained transfer data rates. The controller also incorporates an 80MB/sec internal Ultra2 SCSI connector to support local SCSI devices within the server. Two external Fibre loops allow the controller to scale to 250 drives with up to 18TB of capacity per controller.
