TrueSAN Networks launched its advanced SANengage technology, a hardware-based Fibre Channel LUN masking and volume locking architecture for Storage Area Networks (SAN). Embedded within the company's revolutionary TrueFibre architecture, the locking architecture opens the possibility of sharing a common storage system between multiple host computers without software.

When combined with a full-fabric switch from partner Ancor Communications, the architecture enables connected devices to be assigned to dedicated storage zones. Regardless of the resident operating system, the host can have exclusive access to its own logical partition on the TrueSAN 6000FC solution, as well as shared access to other areas of the system.
