Date General Salutes The CLARiiON FC5300 - RAID system - Brief Article - Product Announcement

Computer Technology Review,  Oct, 1999

Data General Corporation's CLARiiON Storage Division unveiled the CLARiiON FC5300, a new entry-level addition to its family of Fibre Channel storage solutions. The entry-level addition, Data General's third generation of Fibre Channel storage, has been tailored for small to medium-sized applications where performance and uptime are critical. Based on CLARiiON FC5000 Series modular architecture, the addition delivers Fibre Channel at the host and disk levels.

The entry-level addition Fibre Channel disk array, which is immediately available, starts at a list price of approximately $20,000. A high-end system with 30 drives, providing more than a terabyte of storage, sells for less than $200,000.
