Tek-Tools, Inc., has announced the availability of version 3.0 of its Storage Profiler solution. Storage Profiler has added support for Veritas Backup Exec, Windows XP and 2003, Network Appliance Vfiler and NetCache as well as any other NAS device, enhancing their industry leading NAS position by expanding coverage--particularly file analysis.
Storage Profiler's support for Veritas Backup Exec provides real-time monitoring, including backup successes/ failures and exception reporting across multiple Backup Exec servers, even in relation to other vendors in a multi-vendor backup environment. Currently, Storage Profiler supports Veritas Backup Exec and NetBackup, Legato Networker, CA Brightstor ARCserve, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, and Syncsort Backup Express.

The addition of Windows XP and 2003 provides file analysis features including user usage, large and orphan file reporting, asset change management, performance management and forecasting and trending. Storage Profiler now provides information aiding in server consolidation, deletion of unnecessary files and shortening of backup windows on Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, XP and 2003, Novell NetWare, Sun Microsystems Solaris, Linux RedHat, IBM AIX, HP-UX, Tru64, SCO and all NAS devices.
Additionally, Storage Profiler 3.0 offers the following new features:
