Tandberg Associates With CA - Tandberg Data, Computer Associates International - Company Business and Marketing

Computer Technology Review, Dec, 1999

Tandberg Data ASA announced that their information storage platforms Travan, SLR, and DLT range of tape drives and tape automation products will be bundled with ARCserveIT, Computer Associates International, Inc.'s (CA) storage management application. Tandberg Data's information storage solutions support the Microsoft Windows NT operating system and Novell NetWare, while other operating systems and databases are also supported by Tandberg tape storage products via Computer Associate International's management application options.

The company's Travan, SLR, and DLT information storage solutions bundled with Computer Associate's ARCserveIT Workgroup Edition for Windows NT and Single Server for NetWare are intended for small and medium size companies. These tape information storage solutions provide resellers with value and end users with price value, coupled with service and support.

All Tandberg Data ASA SLR and DLT information storage solutions bundled with CA's application also includes support for SLR and DLT autoloaders at no extra charge, which increases the value for customers. The partnership between Computer Associates International, Inc. and Tandberg Data will benefit resellers by providing joint marketing programs and channel activities by the two companies.

The combination of Computer Associates International's product and Tandberg's Travan, SLR, and DLT tape drives allows corporate networks from entry-level to mid-range servers to deploy data protection with security, reliability, and scalability, which can be expanded as requirements change, enabling the user to remain in control of corporate data.

George Kafkarkou, senior vice president of Computer Associates, comments, "This agreement will deliver [a] combination of [the company's] tape drive and tape automation technology plus storage management software out of the box. CA's ARCserveIT will ensure that users will be in control of the amount of corporate data that needs protection."
