Prisa Networks, independent OEM supplier of network management software for Fibre SANs, plans to extend its VisualSAN Network Management Suite to support Systems Area Networks based on InfiniBand. Consisting of VisualSAN Network Manager and VisualSAN Performance Manager, the software automatically discovers. SAN devices and renders a SAN topology map showing device interconnects. Events are monitored, filtered, and correlated, and alerts are generated based on administrator-defined policies. IT administrators can monitor faults in real time, allowing them to address problems before service is disrupted. VisualSAN Performance Manager monitors real time performance of SANs and renders this data. in an intuitive visual format with alert generation. Data collected by Performance Manager is used for historical and trending analysis.

"However, Fibre Channel will continue to be predominant for server-to-storage communications for years to come.
