Computer Technology Review, July, 1999
General Micro Systems announced the Mini DDrive II, the first VMEbus mass storage card to feature two IDE hard drives and an LS-120 super floppy. The new card allows integrators to add mirrored hard disks and super floppy mass storage to their VMEbus systems by eliminating the need to bolt the drives to the chassis and provide cabling. The field-replaceable card also makes it easy for field service personnel to repair the drives, install drives, and upgrade the operating system and application code. The storage card enhances security by making it practical for operators to remove the hard drives from the system on a daily basis.
