Computer Technology Review, Sept, 1999
XIOtech Corporation recently announced the release of their Real-time Data Intelligence (REDI) Storage Architecture and the addition of several software packages to the REDI Software Family. With the MAGNITUDE centralized storage system, its storage architecture, and software family, XIOtech is launching the "SAN in a Box" and providing users with a SAN solution that brings features previously not available, while alleviating user concerns and incompatibility issues. The architecture is the software-based advantage that gives the centralized storage system, MAGNITUDE, its benefits. The new technology is the base for the REDI Software Family, currntly a set of six software packages that allow users to tailor a storage solution that fits their storage needs and budget. XlOtech president and CEO Phil Soran said, "From XlOtech's inception, our advantage has always been our architecture. We are now exploiting our strength in software development by offering solutions that are made to solve specific storage challenges. With the MAGNITUDE centralized storage system and the REDI Software Family, users, for the first time, are empowered with the ability to implement a solution that is specific to their business challenges. As requirements change, REDI Software can be added to satisfy storage needs into the future, while protecting the user's hardware investment. This offers XlOtech end-users a value-add and a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)."
