CRIMINAL JUSTICE:

National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) Scholarship Program

Career: Must be planning a career in the criminal justice field.

$$$: 10 awards of $1,000 each.

Who: Students must be employed by a sheriff's office or have a parent who is employed by a sheriff's office.

Deadline: March 1, 2005.

JOURNALISM:

Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA)/S.I, Newhouse Foundation Scholarship

Career: Must be planning a career in newspaper print journalism.

$$$: 5 awards are offered of up to $5,000 each.

Who: High school seniors. While the scholarship is open to all students, AAJA especially encourages applicants from historically underrepresented Asian Pacific American groups, including Vietnamese, Cambodians, Hmong, and other Southeast Asians, South Asians and Pacific Islanders.

ART AND DESIGN:

Worldstudio Foundation Scholarship

Career: Must pursue a career in one of the following fields: advertising (art direction only), animation, architecture, cartooning, crafts, environmental graphics, fashion design, film/video (direction or cinematography only), film/theatre design, the fine arts, furniture design, graphic design, illustration, industrial/product design, interior architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, new media (interactive/ computer design), photography, surface/textile design, or urban planning.

$$$: 30 to 50 awards offered; awards. range from $100 to $5,000 each.

Who: High school seniors with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Actuarial Scholarship for Minority Students

Career: Must pursue a career as an actuary, an expert in statistics who calculates insurance rates.

Who: High school students.
