Click-n-shoot target CD - Gunnysack
American Handgunner, Jan-Feb, 2004 by Charles E. Petty
Down in my basement is an old bookshelf. There's not one book there, but it's full of paper targets of every shape and size. They represent a fairly substantial investment and may well stay there forever.
Now, when I need a paper target it's easier to pop a CD in the computer than it is to walk downstairs and rummage around until I find what I want. The CD will work with most versions of Windows but does require Adobe Acrobat Reader, which about everyone in the world has already.
Then, when you put the CD in the drive, it automatically opens and lets you pick from a whole bunch of targets. On the label it says, "300" but Dillon's Blue Press, where I found it says, "More than 600." Either way if there isn't one on there you can use, look some more, it's there. And if it ain't, you really don't need it anyhow.
So far the ones most useful have been the critter targets like prairie dogs (for training purposes) and several different bullseye targets, in hopes of finding something these aging eyes can relate to better.
The point is, many of us live with computers and good quality printers these days so all we have to do is pick what we want and tell the computer how many. Many of the targets are in color, if you have a printer that does that, but the images also come out nicely in black and white.
