Wait-and-see gun parts - Pistol Smithing

American Handgunner,  May, 2002  by Alex Hamilton

If Jack First does not have the part, the gunsmith will start to feel a little panic begin to set in, but there is another source, Gun Parts Corporation, (845-679-4867) the next important source for parts for new and obsolete firearms. Gun Parts is a little difficult to deal with and are somewhat disorganized, which is why they are second on the list.

Their 1,152 page catalogue contains parts for many new and some obsolete firearms from Beretta to Winchester and the parts are usually in stock. But here is the hitch--they cannot tell you if the part is available, but you pay for it up front and hope it comes in. If they do not have the part, you receive notice in the mail. Meanwhile, the gunsmith has to put the gun aside and stop the search until he hears from Gun Parts. It can be frustrating!
